October 5th saw the coming together of two huge rivals to battle it out for not only a greater edge in the Premier League title but pride on the pitch. It also saw the reunion of two old adversaries as Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho came face to face once again. For months prior the pair have been locked in a war of words. Arsene could be seen to have started the spat as he claimed Mourinho was playing down his title chances as he had a 'fear to fail'. This fuelled an angry response as Mourinho branded him 'a specialist in failure.' However if you are to delve deeper into the history books you would see that this is not the first time the pair have been at each other's throat's. With all this in mind it was virtually expected what was to come!

It was a slowish start to the game with Chelsea looking comfortable passing the ball around and in control of the game. Neither team hugely looked like threatening as the half went on.

It was finally a mazy run by Eden Hazard beating 3 Arsenal players on his way into the box that unlocked the Arsenal defence. The Chelsea winger was scythed down just as he was preparing to shoot, a penalty was awarded and the chance for Chelsea to draw first blood. It was Hazard that steeped up to the plate and coolly rolled the ball into the bottom corner! One nil Chelsea! The game saw few real clear-cut chances following this moment of magic. Despite a scare for the visiting team as a cross was almost deflected in, clipping the post.

An embarrassing incident, no more than 'handbags' was witnessed worldwide on the touch line. Mr. Wenger whom was unhappy with a foul sauntered over to where the incident occurred near Jose Mourinho's technical area. Very characteristically he showed his displeasure to this, uttered some words to which Arsene proceeded to shove the Chelsea boss in the chest. The Arsenal boss may be seen as rather fortunate not to have had any action taken against him.

The second half saw the newly settled Spanish duo combine once again as they so often have this season for Chelsea! Cesc Fabregas picked up the ball just inside his own half to play a perfectly weighted ball splitting apart his former teams back line. Who else but Diego Costa to be the man galloping free with gusto onto this delicious pass. The in form Chelsea man delicately dinked the ball over and incoming Wojciech Szczęsny to double Chelsea's lead!

Soon to follow was an unbelievable chance for Diego costa to get his second but it was one the Chelsea forward squandered. As the ball was laid across the box he somehow managed to put it over the bar.

The game finished at 2-0 with what was a comfortable victory for Chelsea who looked dominant containing Arsenal to not a shot on target. Arsenal fans maybe discontented with a few niggly fouls that disrupted the passing game we are so accustomed to seeing arsenal play. But it was the quality in Chelsea's play that got them over the line.
